Tree, 4-10 m high. Leaves simple, opposite, oblong or oblong-elliptic, 3-6 cm wide, 12-16 cm long; stipules interpetiolar. Inflorescence in axillary cymose cluster; corolla campanulate, greenish with whitish margins and purplish blotches. Fruit berry, globose.
Wood or root decoction; antipyretic. Stem: decoction; treatment of venereal diseases.
